Tackling Slavery in a Genre Film

I envision a "revenge" film like "Kill Bill" or "Inglorious Bastards." Will this approach dehistoricize Slavery, such as the lack of historical accuracy about WWII in "Inglorious Bastards," or will Tarantino create a story that challenges many of the myths of American slavery? A revenge story, at its core, is a story of action, with the protagonist often on a righteous trek of violent retribution. I'm looking forward to his take on slavery. If anything, this film will have more of a historical awareness than the History Channel's "You Don't Know Dixie."
